1. Purpose of this Disclaimer
This Disclaimer applies to all pages of the Booksmechanics website, all marketing and social media content published by or on behalf of The Booksmechanics Advisory Ltd, and all preliminary communications with prospective clients. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service.
2. Consulting Firm, Not an Audit Practice
The Booksmechanics Advisory Ltd is a business and financial consulting firm. We are not a licensed or registered audit firm. We do not conduct statutory audits, issue audit opinions, or provide assurance services within the meaning of the Companies Act, 2015 or any other Kenyan statute. Any reference on our Website or marketing materials to “financial reporting,” “review,” or similar terms refers to internal management reporting and bookkeeping support, not to statutory audit or independent assurance.
3. ICPAK Registration
The Booksmechanics Advisory Ltd is not currently registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) as a practising firm. We do not use the designation “Certified Public Accountants (Kenya),” the letters “CPA(K)” as a firm designation, or any similar protected title in connection with the firm, and we do not represent to clients or the public that we hold ICPAK practising certification as a firm. Where an individual director or consultant personally holds professional qualifications or certifications, these are held and represented in an individual capacity only, and do not imply that the firm itself is a registered practising entity.
4. Not Legal Advice
Nothing on this Website constitutes legal advice. For matters requiring legal interpretation, contract review, litigation, or representation before a court or tribunal, Clients should consult a qualified advocate admitted to practise in Kenya.
5. General Nature of Published Content
Articles, guides, calculators, checklists, and other content published on this Website are for general informational and educational purposes only. Tax rates, statutory thresholds, and regulatory requirements referenced on this Website (including in relation to VAT, NSSF, SHIF, and PAYE) are subject to change by the relevant Kenyan authorities and should be independently verified before being relied upon. We recommend Clients confirm current requirements directly with the Kenya Revenue Authority, NSSF, or SHIF, or through a formal engagement with our Firm.
6. Referral of Regulated Matters
Where a Client's needs fall outside our scope of practice — including statutory audit, court representation, or any matter requiring a licence or registration we do not hold — we will advise the Client of this limitation and, wherever possible, refer them to an appropriately licensed professional or firm.
